de:volt works on phones and tablets now
Touch gestures for the canvas, tap-to-place from the palette, phone-sized panels, and finger-friendly wiring land across the simulator.

The simulator now treats a finger as a first-class pointer. If you open de:volt on an iPad in a classroom or check a circuit from your phone, the editor adapts instead of pretending you have a mouse.
Gestures that do what you expect
One finger pans the canvas, or taps and drags components. Two fingers pan and pinch-zoom at the same time, anchored under your fingers, no matter what is underneath them. A long press opens the context menu that used to require right-click. Hit targets for pins, wires, and breadboard holes double in size on touch, so plugging a jumper into hole 23f does not require surgeon hands. Mouse behaviour is untouched; all of this switches on only for touch input.
Placing and wiring by tap
Drag-and-drop from the palette is a mouse idea. On touch you tap a palette tile to arm it, then press and drag on the canvas to position a snapping ghost of the part and release to drop it. Wiring is two taps: one on the source pin, one on the target. Tapping empty canvas cancels a draft wire instead of bending it, which ends the "my wire keeps growing corners" problem, and a Cancel wire button appears while you are drafting.
An on-canvas action bar carries the essentials that used to live on the keyboard: undo, redo, delete, duplicate, auto-route, and deselect.
Phone-sized layout
Below tablet width the Components palette and Inspector open as bottom sheets, one at a time, with a four-button dock along the bottom edge. The toolbar compacts to the brand, project title, Run, and an overflow menu. Long menus scroll instead of running off screen, and the layout respects notches and floating browser bars. Tablets keep the full docked-panel layout, with panel dividers you can actually grab with a finger.
Settings and scope
Touch controls live under Settings → Editor as Auto, On, or Off, saved per device. Auto follows whether the screen is a touchscreen. Two honest boundaries: there is no marquee multi-select on touch (one finger on empty canvas pans instead), and there is no rotate gesture because the editor has no rotate action to bind.
There is a short guide for classroom tablet setups at docs.devoltapp.com/user/using-on-a-tablet. Open sim.devoltapp.com on the device you already have and it should feel at home.
